- Gertrude Irene Sarah (Topsy) was born 20 June 1901 in Dimboola, Vic. Topsy was only 6 years old when her father died, and it affected her deeply. She was sent to a convent home in Melbourne at 14 years of age, then about May 1917, went to live at Railway View with her sisters. Topsy married James (Jim) Harris in Darwin. Jim was a missionary, and the couple spent time at Oenpelli, an Aboriginal settlement in Arnhem Land, Northern Territory, until Jim was killed in a timber cutting accident. They had one son, John James (Jim). Topsy lived at Guildford for many years after her husband's death, then moved to a home in Alice Springs near her son. Topsy died on 3 April 1988 in Alice Springs.
